About this position:

We are seeking an Engineering Manager with expertise in plastic injection molds/injection molding to lead our technical team in the development and optimization of tooling and processes, including automation solutions.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Plastics Technology with 5 years minimum applicable thermoplastic injection molding experience

 Job Skill Requirements

  • Strong and diverse technical background in injection molding processing, tooling, equipment, automation, materials, manufacturing and quality
  • Demonstrated creative thinking ability to think out of the box and recommend options
  • Project and management skills; ability to handle multiple projects
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with risk analysis tools, such as FMEA
  • Ability to direct and guide a small team of direct reports
  • Competence to guide and support personnel in multiple departments during implementation of new technologies and new project launches

Job Details and Responsibilities

New Technology Development

  • Develop new technologies to complement/enhance M2P offerings in metal replacement applications
  • Work with customers to assess technological needs and develop solutions to address customer needs

Engineering Dept. Oversight

  • Oversee engineering department activity including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP / program management), tooling design and development, process development, and automation development
  • Supervise a small team of 2-3 direct reports, including Process Engineer and Tooling Engineer
  • Develop tooling design standards to ensure customer requirements and cost requirements are met

Continuous Improvement / Ongoing Support

  • Analyze existing processes; develop and implement solutions to drive improvement in product cost and product quality
  • Act as a technical resource to Met2Plastic's production and tooling departments
