QUALITY TECHNICIAN

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum Education requirement: High School Diploma and Certified Mechanical Inspector certification or equivalent combination of experience and education

Job Skill Requirements

  • Proven skills in completing dimensional and visual inspections on parts
  • Familiarity with quality system techniques and methods, including ISO, SPC, Gage R&R and Clean Room Procedures
  • Demonstrated understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Computer skills (Windows, Excel, SPC Software)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication ability
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Equipment Skill Requirements

  • Touch Probe CMM (PC-DMIS)
  • Optical CMM
  • Hand Tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gages, Gage Pins, Thread Gages)
  • Comparator
  • Color Spectrophotometer
  • Moisture Analyzer

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for an entire shift (8-10 hrs / day)
  • No restrictions on twisting and bending (to move product)
  • Regular use of hands (100% of time)
  • Ability to work in a shop environment frequent exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, and oils
  • Vision 20/20 with or without correction
  • Vision Screening at M2P-designated clinic (Titmus) prior to hire, and every two years thereafter
  • Limited reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling and crouching

Job Responsibilities

  • Program CMMs and other equipment in Quality Department to complete inspection activities
  • Conduct Gage R&R
  • Audit activities of production personnel to ensure compliance to specifications
  • Conduct startup, in-process, last part, and final inspection
  • Complete Dimensional Layouts and associated reports
  • Complete CPK Studies as needed
  • Assist with PPAP; complete PPAP paperwork as needed
  • Complete 100% inspection of lots as needed
  • Conduct incoming inspections
  • Prepare/sign off on material certs for outgoing shipment of product to customers
